Thanksgiving. AKA why did I eat that much?
We had a nice turkey day. Day 2 of 3 completed.
Day 1 was my school thanksgiving. My acting class put on a skit. We ate lots.
Day 2 was at my moms. We ate lots.
Today=Day 3. We are going to my dads. We will eat lots.
Theme much?
This is me, being very full.

Summer of Awesome : Wedding part deux
We had always planned on having two parties for our wedding. The one in California happened in 2010. The French/European version happened this summer. During my Summer of Awesome.
We had friends from Paris, from throughout France, from Italy, from Germany, from Finland, and even a few folks from New York and California.
All these people came to support us and celebrate with us. Lovely.

Summer of Awesome: Bordeaux
Went to Bordeaux before the big wedding she-bang. Went to a couple vineyards and hung out with a couple of friends from California who came (all the way from California!) for wedding part deux. :)
Me.
Pretty.
Eric and Hanneke.
Vineyard we observed from afar #1. Below is #2
Vats o' wine.
Bottles o' wine.
Some Dutchman's vineyard/humble home for one... Life is tough, man.

Musings.
I've been thinking quite a bit about the zombie apocalypse (or some such equivalent) quite a bit lately. Not so much the zombie aspect, as the no-one-around, need-to-survive-on-one's-own part.
I feel prepared. I know how to sew and crochet. I feel I could provide clothing for myself and those around me.
When I think about it, though, I always imagine being in transit. I liken it to the Little House books and the hard scrabble life they led. There's the pioneer spirit somewhere in there... and I find that my mind always leaves room for future travel... that there will always be a quest to undertake.
What do you think? Will we stay put in our shelters? Will we resort to lawlessness? Or will it be a return to the 'olden days' when we were just... living. Cultivating and creating from scratch.
Hm. I'm curious.

Summer of Awesome: Rodez and road-trip
I went to visit one of my best friends in Rodez and we went on a road trip to Sète and to a lake closer to her home.
Sète is beautiful. I went swimming in the sea. It was breezy and lovely. We spent the night in a campsite in Amanda's tent. It was lovely.
We drove north towards a lake closer to home. It was hot and sunny, and we passed by the vineyards surrounding the lake.
There were also these amazing rocky mounds that people had taken to writing messages on. They mostly seemed like love messages. We wrote a couple ourselves... (Mine says 2 a+d meaning 2 years for anna and domi. Domi and I were in France to celebrate our 2nd wedding anniversary and have our European wedding party. :))
There was also this weird, random, and very neat abandoned town. I thought it was some sort of ancient thing, but it is very much a modern walled in town that was abandoned about 20 or 30 years ago or some such. Weird, right?
And then there was the food... typical of Aveyron, the region in which one finds Rodez. Good food. That's all I'm saying.

Summer of Awesome: South of France
So, continuing with my (slow) account of my summer... after Italy and a revisit to Paris (just can't get enough) I went to the south of France to visit some friends. This was in, oh, mid-July. handtoforehead
Um, yes. The south of France is beautiful. I know.
Caro is showing me her amazing dance moves. :)
Look, ma! I went swimming!! (Seriously. She didn't believe me when I told her that. Generally speaking I don't like swimming, however I do like swimming when it's hot out and there's a beautiful river/lake/ocean to swim in. Go figure.)
Byooteefool.
This guy's name is Pailloux. That's like, 'Hayguy' or something. With a beret. And a mustache. :D

Crochet Update
Well, it took me a little bit longer than I expected, but that's just because I... ahem... wasn't crocheting at all. (sheepish grin)
So, as you can see... I finished my hat. What do you think? Can I wear it out in public? Can I wear it with this very same outfit??? (Also, please ignore my deer in the headlights expression - I promise I'm just expressing my excitement about having completed my project :))

Summer of Awesome: Italia
After Paris I went down to visit friends in northern Italy from when Domi and I lived there. I ate a lot.

Summer of Awesome: Paris
Le sigh. I was so happy to be in Paris. I did a lot of shopping, but I didn't take pictures of that. I took some pictures of beautiful Paris and beautiful food I had there. These are from the beginning of July.
The picture that I can't take is of how happy I was to be in Paris... not sure how one might take that picture.
Double le sigh.
